So long as you have ideas for each step then you will be OK. Pretty much the same as any project - even one as large as this site.

<![CDATA[Steven Lucas commented on a blog post]]>Even while you're thinking, making notes, doing bits on-the-fly and other little actions like that keep the inspiration going. I do an awful lot of my writing almost totally off-the-cuff without pre-planning, although, because I'm a grammar freak (I have Grammarly installed everywhere), I do go backwards and forwards a lot. But that's just my style. So long as it feels like fun in the end!

<![CDATA[Steven Lucas added new blog post]]>How To Do Video When You're No Good At Video Are you the sort of person who hates the thought of being on camera? Do you dislike hearing your own voice? If the answer to either of the above questions is 'Yes', then you'll probably feel you're at a distinct disadvantage as a marketer, since so much of it seems to revolve around putting up at least a short clip. There are ways around this problem, though. Also, making videos was once a very expensive game. Professional grade cameras, studio-style lighting, and sound, not to mention the cost of digitising tools to get the video onto computer and editing equipment to sort it all out afterwards. Fortunately, all that has now changed. Mobile phones, tablets, and cheap digital cameras all have the capability to take decent video and there is also a plethora of cheap and free video editing tools to sort it all out afterwards. I haven't used and tested everything available. I don't need to. I have found some stuff that works for me and I've stuck to it. If it ain't broke... Before getting to the creation of videos, we ought to sort them into different types. Talking head: The camera is pointing straight at the presenter who talks as if to a friend or lecturing to a class. It needn't solely be 'head and shoulders' as the name suggests, but usually, there's nothing else in the frame except the person who's talking. Presentation: Also commonly known as the Powerpoint video. A series of pre-made slides done in Powerpoint or a similar program (Libre Office, Open Office if you want 'free'), usually with a voice-over, although they don't have to have one. Very easy to make and almost everybody's starting point. Consider animation videos a subset of the presentation. Screen Capture: Exactly what the name says. Perform actions on the computer screen and use software to capture the activities. I do product reviews that capture me going through the sales and download pages on my browser. Interview: Two or more people talking t... Read more

<![CDATA[Steven Lucas commented on a blog post]]>Thank you, Stephen. Keeping things ethical means you build the second and third elements - Like & Trust, too. Once you can keep the 3 elements in place, you will get better open rates on your emails and click-throughs on your offers too.

<![CDATA[Steven Lucas added new blog post]]>Whose Fault is it if YOU Are Not A Success? Yup. This going to be a 'mindset' lecture. Switch off now, visit some other post that gives you sympathy and you're proving me right. Harsh? Maybe, but it's something that is seen so much online especially in forums, AMA (ask me anything) sessions and even in PMs to coaches. "I bought your course, read through it, understood it, but I'm not making money from it. Your course must be rubbish." (Language toned down in case there are minors reading this). Guess what? There's nothing about the buyer taking action beyond reading. There's nothing that says the reader did any research or work on the parts he (she) didn't understand. In short, there's nothing that screams ACTION to the coach or any observer. Believe it or not, there is plenty of good information in some of the cheapest products but because it isn't push-button, hand-holding, check-list simple, it's being ignored. Why? Because people do not want to do further research. Almost every IM coach on the planet says, "Set up a squeeze page", but if their coaching doesn't include step-by-step instructions on how to do it, the student doesn't do it but blames the coach or system. The point of being an online marketer (for most of us) is to get to the state of financial independence from working for someone else. We want to be in control of our own lives and not be at the whim of somebody else (apart from maybe our dearly beloved partner). To take that control requires work. It takes determination on our part and it brooks no excuses either. If you bought a product / system / call-it-what-you-like, the vendor certainly has a responsibility to make it accurate in its claims, but ONLY YOU can have the responsibility for implementing it. That means you are the one who has to make it work. It's not related to price either. I am just as willing to help somebody with my $1 WSO (Create, Snip, Score - look it up. It's a good free traffic trick) as I would be with someone who... Read more
