Situated in the heart of Chesterfield as part of the Pavements Shopping Centre, the Library offers:-

• A choice of almost 200,000 books to borrow.  There’s something for all ages and tastes…  novels, books for children, babies and teenages, large print and audio books and information  books on every topic imaginable….
• Information – our information specialists can answer all questions and queries with our AskLibrary service. Use our free online resources, including encyclopedias, newspapers and Ancestry.com.
• Free Internet access and use of office software packages.
• Local studies and music and drama collections.
• Numberous regular and one off events – just ask for details.
• DVDs to hire – the latest films, TV series and DVDs for children.
• Visit Browsers Coffee Shop for a wide range of drinks and snacks.

Everyone who lives, works or studies in Derbyshire can join the library free of charge. Your ticket gives immediate access to the resources and services of Chesterfield Library and over 50 other libraries operated by Derbyshire County Council.  It also gives free access to our 24 hour library of online information.
