Acting With Purpose

Action without though is quite literally pointless. or aimless.

Every action you perform at any time moves you towards something and therefore away from something else.

But let's not get a head of ourselves, pardon the pun. Here we are talking about moving towards something.

Goal Oriented Action.

Based on the previous statements ALL action in one way or another takes you in a certain direction and so all action should always point to a specific location or definite aim. This can be a goal, an objective or a specific outcome you are looking for. Either way without the target objective the action is completely pointless.

We are by our very nature goal oriented beings, we are always striving towards a specific goal or outcome. The trick then is to always have a definite aim or set of definite aims in life that support our main or chief aim in life.

 

PRECISION Targeting.

If you imagine that a Jet taking off from Manchester airport in the UK, and then imagine that the jet is heading for New York. If the pilot is off target even 1 degree the pilot will end up hundreds if not thousands of miles off of his original target. He could end up in either Mexico or Alaska!

For this very reason a pilot is continuously measuring and making adjustments along the journey so that he ends up in New York.

This is exactly what you should do with your life. Continuously readjust.

  • Create a chief or PRIMARY aim in life.
  • Create Chief Aims for the main areas of your life such as Romance, Business, Career, Health and so on.
  • Create a set of Main Goals for each of the chief aims and the Primary aim.
  • Plan a route that will take you through your Main Goals towards your Chief Aims and eventually towards the achievement of your Primary Aim.

Of course you should re-examine your goals at specific intervals to make sure that you are Precisely On Target.

However before you do all of that it is a good idea to do some deep and serious thinking to make sure that your goals or targets are in complete alignment with who you are, what you want to be do and have and your ability to achieve whatever it is you want to achieve.

You will always get out of something exactly what you put in. Or the results will always be in direct proportion to the effort you make during each step. So start by learning some Goals Setting Techniques as outlined in the free Goals Setting Report, then do some deep thinking using the thinking methods as described in my previous blog post.

You can then begin to create the plans that will take you towards a definite aim in life instead of walking aimlessly through life. It is vital that you get that Thought followed by Action will eventually produce the results you are after if the thought and action process is done on a yearly, quarterly, monthly or even weekly cycle.

Doing this you gain the power to guarantee your own success.
